Autocrossing the Lightnings! (56K warning)
So Brandon and I went autocrossing in our Lightnings this past Sunday! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!
B laying into it.
----------------------------
Both trucks on the track.
----------------------------
burn 'em
----------------------------
me drifting B's truck
----------------------------
me sliding a corner in my L
----------------------------
me smokin' 'em through a curve...yes, on purpose for the visuals. Me and B were trying to smoke the tires as much as we could all day long!
----------------------------
me in B's truck again, binging it through the last curves
----------------------------
B bringing it home through the last curves in my truck
----------------------------
And last but not least, B starting to lose it...
----------------------------
Lost it...you should have seen this one...nice 360 powering into and out of the whole way....oy the smoke! My poor tires!

Rick,
I think wherever they go and do that, they put it on often, quite regularly in fact; if I'm not mistaken. I think I heard one of them say that it happens once a month IIRC... Stan

I gotta admit, back in August, the track they set up was more forgiving for our trucks and I ran for time. I took pride in having better times than a WRX STI, as well as a Camaro, without taking out a single cone on any of my timed runs.
But this last event, the track was so freaking tight, there was really no fun in trying for time, so I adopted Brandon's "turn and burn" mentality. Plus, my tires were already shot from the August run, and I didn't plan on changing them out before this past Sunday, so I knew traction was going to be non-existent.
The next dates are October 28 & 29, and November 11 & 12. December dates have been cancelled.
The event organizers say Saturday usually has less people than Sunday.
We'd love to have more L's running with us! If any of you guys come up for this, we'll make sure to go out for dinner Saturday night after running!
